This beautiful vintage Berber carpet features a thick, dense, hand-woven pile, softened by time into rich, sun-faded colours. A magnificent family carpet, it was woven with warmth, durability, and comfort in mind, its substantial pile offering welcome insulation during the colder winter months. Beneath the softly faded surface, the original vivid colours remain preserved at the base of the knots, revealing glimpses of the carpet’s former vibrancy and adding depth to its timeworn character. The addition of the ‘floral’ motif reflects a range of influences within the weaver’s cultural tradition; this symbol often appears in urban Moroccan rugs (and Oriental carpets). This old cartpet is full of warmth, history, and authentic character.
