An exceptional old pure wool rug from northeast Morocco with a gentle formality. The design and construction are highly skilled, with extensive use of traditional and classic Berber symbols and patina, including protective motifs. This is a grand and formal rug, perhaps created by a master weaver. The wool is soft and dense, and the rug is in good condition. There is gentle colour run throughout, something that sometimes happens in old Moroccan rugs
