An exceptional, thick, and heavy circa 1980s Berber Moroccan carpet featuring bold tribal graphics, including a detailed lozenge network embedded with further motifs such as crosses and diamonds, which in Berber culture convey a protective symbolism. The field is a warm buttercream (less ivory than it appears here) and the designs are woven in black and dark maroon, with colour run around the base of the knots around the maroon motifs. All 100% pure wool and in very good condition
