A lovely and unusual 1960s Islamic Quranic writing board, a traditional wooden tablet once used in Islamic schools for learning. It is hand-inscribed on both sides with delicate Arabic calligraphy by the original pupil, with dramatic colour changes to the wood over time. With some fading and chips in the wood, this old piece reflects a unique period in Morocco’s history
