East of Fez, in the heart of the Middle Atlas Mountains, the Beni Saddene tribal communities are known for producing carpets rich in colour and intricate patterns. This large vintage kilim or flatweave,  dating from the circa 1970s, showcases a beautifully varied sequence of decorative panels—some incorporating knotted pile—woven in pure wool. Its palette of subtle earthy salmon and warm amber-rosy hues gives the piece depth and warmth, making it both visually striking and versatile. A truly authentic Berber rug, it carries gentle signs of its past life, adding character and a sense of history without detracting from its beauty.
