A glorious vintage rug woven by the Ait Youssi tribal weavers of Morocco’s Middle Atlas mountain ranges. Hand-knotted in thick and densely packed 100% wool pile, this exceptional carpet is distinguished by its bold, saturated palette and assured tribal design. A traditional Berber lozenge grid has been executed with a remarkably steady hand, each lozenge carefully filled with an irregular cross motif that lends the composition its distinctive character.  The richly layered colour story combines warm red, deep pink and tangerine with touches of charcoal, creating a vibrant yet beautifully balanced tribal aesthetic. This original carpet remains in superb condition, with the faintest graduation towards lighter tones at one end—an understated reminder of its age and authenticity.
