This is a truly original and wonderful circa 1960-70s Beni Ouarain carpet that displays a beautiful and complex deconstructed lozenge network, with the design seemingly 'interrupted' in one-third - and framed within strong side borders. This authentic handwoven Berber rug is one of our treasures and represents pieces that are now hard to find, with a lovely knotted pile (with a curly 2-ply wool, meaning that this rug is of great quality). Short flatweave bands finish one end, and with a part intact fringe. Woven in 100% natural buttercream and dark brown pure wool this vintage Berber rug has a lustrous patina, with some areas where the wool is a shade darker and a couple of areas of missing pile along with soft marks on the back.
