This exquisite and original vintage ‘hanbel’ is a kilim-like flatweave on one side and on the other features a long soft and fluffy cotton pile. Dating from about the 1980s, it was woven to be used as a large blanket-like shawl. It is fine and beautiful with delicately woven bands of geometric designs, and the 'shaggy' reverse side is extravagant and bold with looped tufts of silky wool. In wonderful condition, it has a couple of very subtle henna marks
