Cut from a long and narrow old handwoven rug (perhaps because it was damaged) this lovely fragment displays the beautiful weaving of the tribes of the Middle Atlas mountains. With wear throughout, in places down to the base, this now blanket-like weaving is probably mid-century. Woven in fine pure wool, with the exception of the blue which is dyed cotton, the knotted pile is fine and silky and the work is delicate and beautifully executed
