The Berber tribes of the Ait Ouaouzguite, located around the big market town of Tazenakht in the High Atlas region, weave rugs that combine an array of warm sunny shades with some of the finest wool found in Morocco. A full network of hatched lozenge symbols fills this soft and silky carpet and a fine edge detail border of red and charcoal contains the composition. The warm deep tangerine wool varies slightly in tone as it undulates through the carpet. The 100% wool carpet is in great vintage condition, with some very fine subtle restorations, and some missing pile in the flat weave panel at one end
