An exceptional thick and heavy circa 1980s Berber Moroccan carpet with bold tribal graphics including a detailed lozenge network embedded with further motifs such as crosses and diamonds - which in Berber culture bring a protection symbolism. The field is a warm buttercream (less ivory than it appears here) hue and the designs are woven in black and dark maroon, with colour run around the base of the knots around the maroon motifs. All 100% pure wool and in very good condition
