Ait Bou Ichaouen Rug KL302 SOLD

This rare small rug, dating from around about the 1960s, is from the Ait Bou Ichaouen Berbers who live in the far eastern end of the High Atlas Mountains. It  was created with a combination of flat weave (blanket-like) with the repeating criss-cross grid of half lozenge symbols woven in knotted pile. In nice condition, it does have restoration and nibbling at the edges. Woven in soft mauve, with touches of tangerine and darker purple
