ABOUT US AND TERMS

We specialise in original vintage carpets mostly woven by tribal weavers for their own use - displaying the authentic spirit of Berber art. In a market now flooded with copies (passed off as vintage!), we seek out the authentic and describe our items honestly.

Driven by our passion for Berber textiles, we source genuine hand woven rugs and carpets and make them available through this website. We offer these wonderful pieces at keen prices because we keep our costs down by not having a shop, showroom or studio. Our approach means that you might want to take a bit of time choosing something by looking at photos and talking to us - and at the end of the day you will have a wonderful, original piece at a fabulous price!

We fell in love with Moroccan textiles during our trips to visit family. We started to buy a few pieces; keeping some and selling some. We grew to know which were authentic, well made and truly representative of the original creative process. We prefer to select rather than commission. And we know that genuinely vintage pieces have had a past life and will reflect that in their character, patina and condition. Although we do offer contemporary pieces we try to avoid the copies that are now to be found everywhere. We will be honest with you about what is old and what is new.

We now send Moroccan tribal rugs, kilims and cushions worldwide. We buy fairly. We buy from the weaver herself, weavers' family, small village markets or auctions. We hunt out items made with care and skill, and woven with the best quality materials. With one of us a native Berber speaker, we have access to the people, villages and tribes others might struggle to make contact with.

We hope that you will fall in love with the organic beauty of the tribal textiles that come from this wonderful country.
