This is a gorgeous old kilim woven by tribes from south western Morocco.
It is woven in sheeps wool throughout: the weaver has skillfully mixed gentle pink, green and biege hues, changing colour emphasis as she moved through the piece. Lozenge motifs woven into the design seem to 'float' above the colour bands.
A simply and wonderful example of authentic tribal weaving and in lovely condition.
