This is an old Middle Atlas carpet, full or charm and energy. The orange-fused red blends into a soft orange wool towards one end, woven with striking designs which work their way from one end to the other.
The body of the carpet is in nice condition with some lower height pile at one end. There is fraying at both ends, with only a little of the original flatweave ends leaft. The weavers has left a mark - her signature - as a sign that this carpet was hers; carpets were often brought out and shared for village events.
Quite a lightweight, flexible carpet.
